John Stenger, 52, Waynetown died 3 p.m. Thursday in his residence after an extended illness.  Mr. Stenger taught at Attica, North Montgomery and South Montgomery school corporations. He was also an insurance agent and most recently owned the Touch of Nostalgia Antique Shop, Waynetown.  His memberships included Liberty Chapel Church; charter member of Kiwanis, North Montgomery; former Toastmaster; and was active in Sugar Creek Players. He was also an Evan's Scholar. He was a Glenview Ill HS graduate and received his bachelor's of education from the University of Illinois and master's of education from Purdue University.  He was born Aug 7, 1949 at Tuscola, Ill to Francis Joe and Marcella Koberlein Stenger. He married Maribeth Lefton on Aug 19, 1972 at Attica. She survives.  Also surviving are his mother at Decatur, Ill; two sons, Justin and Clinton Stenger, Waynetown; six brothers: Richard, James, Christopher, Lawrence and William all of Decatur and Michael, Greenfield, Ill and two sisters, Cheryl Fansher, Decatur and Patricia Perkin, Anderson, Ill.  His father is deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 3 p.m. Sunday in Liberty Chapel Church, 501 N County Road 400W, Crawfordsville with Rev. Allen Sparks and James Ireland officiating.  Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Saturday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Indiana 25 S, Waynetown. Memorials may be made to Liberty Chapel Church or the American Cancer Society
